Sri Saibaba Mandir, 8-2-21, Market Street, Koneru, Secunderabad - 500 003

Brief History of the Mandir

This Mandir was started by Saibhakta Late Sri.G.V.R.Naidu. He  established “Sri Saibaba Seva Samajam”  in 1962 as a registered body and was the Founder President of the Samajam. He initially started Saibaba Pooja Mandiram in his own rented residence in the year 1938 and later on in 1982 got a Government Order and regularized it as Sri Saibaba Mandir.

Late Sri G.V.R. Naidu, a veteran staunch devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba started sai movement in Andhra Pradesh wayback in 1938, The awareness and spreading of the Sai Movement is entirely due to the initiative and devotion and broad minded nature of Sri.G.V.R.Naidu. During the first visit, Sri. B.V. Narsimha Swamiji, the apostle of Sai Baba foretold that Naidu's surname is “GANDAM (Sugandam - Sweet Fragrance of sandalwood) wafts its fragrance though alive or dead- He will spread Sai faith everlastingly”. His  name has become eternal in the history of this Sai Temple. With the profound blessings of Baba the place has been consecrated by the galaxy of great saints like His Holiness Sri.Narsimha Swamiji apostle of Sai Baba, Her Holiness Godavarimatha of Sakori, Mathru Krishna Priya, His Holiness Kavi Yogi Suddhananda Bharati, Swamy Keshavaiah Ji of Chennai, Dr. Babaji and many great Sai Bhaktas.

It is also a great unforgettable event, privilege and pleasure to mention that Sri. G.V.R.Naidu was the first person who took great interest and pains in getting translation of first edition of Sri Sai Satcharitra in Telugu by Sri Prarhinarayana garu in December 1963. Sri.G.V.R.Naidu has written his last preface for the 7th Edition on 16-12-1986.

Baba's Grace descended and a magnificent Sai Temple rose up in succeeding years and a fully fledged complex adorning by the installation of Marble idol of 6'-9" installed after getting it consecrated first at Shirdi Samadhi Mandir and installed by his holiness  Dr.Vidyaranya Teertha Swamiji of Dwarakapeetam, Bangalore on  25th April, 1994, with great enthusiasm and applause of Sai Devotees and general public. Sri Sripathi Pandu Ranga Rao, (President) along with his dedicated friends Sri Nanduri Dwaraknath(General Secretary ), Sri Sunil Siddam Setty (Organizing Secretary ) the sole architect of the Mandir are efficiently managing the entire activities of the Mandir as well as in the further developments and constructions of various wings of the Mandir.
